How the trial works
When you subscribe to any Octopods plan, the trial begins immediately and lasts for 7 days. During the trial:
You have full access to the plan’s features, just as you would on a paid subscription.
Your card on file is recorded but not charged.
You can cancel at any point before the trial ends and no payment is taken.
On the subscription page you’ll see a reminder banner that reads: Start your 7 day free trial. Cancel anytime before [date] and you won’t be charged!
The date shown is the trial end date — the day you’d be billed for the first time if you don’t cancel.
Each plan has its own trial
Trials apply per plan, not per account. If you subscribe to multiple products, each one starts its own 7-day trial on the day you subscribe. For example:
You subscribe to the Omnichannel plan on the 1st of the month — that trial runs until the 8th.
Three days later, you subscribe to the WhatsApp Business plan — that trial runs until the 11th.
Each trial ends independently on its own date.
This means you can try products individually without affecting trials on any plans you’ve already started.
Where the trial dates show up
Once you’re subscribed, the active subscription card on the Billing & Subscriptions page shows the trial period and the next billing date:
Status badge — Displays “Trialing” during the trial, then switches to “Active” once the trial ends and the first invoice is paid.
Trial period — The start and end dates of your trial.
Next billing date — When your first charge will happen if you don’t cancel.
What happens when the trial ends
On the last day of the trial, Octopods charges the card on file for the first billing period and the subscription status switches from “Trialing” to “Active”. You keep uninterrupted access to the plan.
If no payment method is on file, or the payment fails, you’ll be notified and given a chance to fix the card. Messages stop being sent or received on channels tied to that plan once the payment issue is unresolved.
If you cancel during the trial
If you cancel before the trial ends, no payment is taken and the plan is deactivated immediately. All channels tied to that plan stop sending and receiving messages. See Canceling Your Subscription for the full cancellation flow.
If you resubscribe after canceling
If you cancel a plan and later resubscribe to the same plan, the fresh trial may be shortened to prevent extending the total trial time across repeat subscriptions. You’ll see the trial end date before you confirm so there are no surprises.
Tip: If you’re unsure whether a product is right for your team, it’s fine to cancel during the trial — you can always subscribe again later.
