Open the schedule you want to change
Sign in to Octopods.
Open Settings from the main navigation.
Click Schedules.
If your account has more than one schedule, click the tab for the one you want to edit at the top of the page. Each tab is labeled with the schedule’s name. The active tab is underlined in indigo.
The schedule editor opens in place. Every field shows the current value, and any channels currently linked to this schedule are pre-ticked in the Assign to Channels section.
Rename a schedule
In the Schedule Details card, click the Schedule Name field.
Replace the existing text with the new name.
Click Save Schedule in the bottom-right corner.
The tab at the top of the page updates to the new name. Any channels assigned to this schedule keep their assignment — only the label changes.
Note: If you clear the field and try to save, Octopods returns the error “Title can’t be blank. Please insert a title below.” Type at least one character before saving.
Change the hours
In the Weekly Hours card, you can adjust each day independently:
Open a closed day: tick the checkbox next to its three-letter label (MON, TUE, etc.). Time inputs appear and you can set the start and end times.
Close an open day: untick the checkbox. The time inputs are replaced with the italic “Closed” label.
Change the times on an open day: edit the start or end time directly in the time picker.
Add a second time block: click the indigo + Add button next to the existing block to add another start/end pair on the same day.
Remove a time block: click the red Remove button on the block you no longer need. The first block on each day cannot be removed — to fully close a day, untick the day’s checkbox instead.
When the hours look right, click Save Schedule in the bottom-right corner of the page.
Change the timezone
In the Weekly Hours card header, open the timezone dropdown in the top-right corner.
Select a new timezone from the list.
Click Save Schedule.
Important: Changing the timezone immediately changes how the schedule is interpreted. A schedule that read 9:00–17:00 Eastern Time will read 9:00–17:00 Pacific Time after the switch — three hours later in absolute time. Update the start and end times in the same save if you want the open hours to match a specific clock time in the new timezone.
Change the out-of-office message
In the Out of Office Message card, switch between Yes, send out-of-office messages and No, do not send out-of-office messages as needed.
If Yes is selected, edit the text in the Message field. The 500-character limit and live counter still apply.
Click Save Schedule.
Changes take effect immediately on every channel linked to this schedule. For more on how out-of-office replies behave and what to write in them, see Out-of-Office Auto-Responses.
Add or remove channels
Scroll to the Assign to Channels section in the Schedule Details card.
Tick a channel to add it to this schedule. If the channel is already linked to a different schedule, an amber warning appears: “Some channels already have an assigned schedule. Saving will override the previous configuration.” Saving will move the channel from its previous schedule to this one.
Untick a channel to remove it from this schedule. After saving, the channel will have no schedule attached and will behave as if it’s always open.
Click Save Schedule.
For the full assignment workflow, see Assigning Schedules to Channels.
Delete a schedule
When you no longer need a schedule, you can remove it.
Open the schedule you want to delete.
Scroll to the bottom of the editor and click Delete Schedule in the bottom-left corner. The button is styled in red.
A confirmation dialog appears asking “Are you sure you want to delete this schedule?”. Click OK to confirm or Cancel to keep the schedule.
Once you confirm, Octopods deletes the schedule and returns you to the Schedules page. If you have other schedules, the editor opens to the next one. If this was your only schedule, you land back on the empty state with the Create Schedule button.
If something goes wrong during deletion, Octopods displays the error “An error occurred while trying to delete this schedule.” in a red banner at the top of the page. Refresh the page and try again. If the error persists, contact support.
What happens to assigned channels when you delete a schedule
Deleting a schedule unlinks every channel that was attached to it. Those channels go back to having no schedule, which means:
Out-of-office replies stop being sent on those channels.
Incoming messages are delivered as normal regardless of the time of day.
If you want a different schedule to take over, open the replacement schedule before or after deleting and tick the channels you want to move over. See Assigning Schedules to Channels for the full steps.
Warning: Deletion is permanent. The schedule’s hours, timezone, channel assignments, and out-of-office message text are all removed. If you want to keep the configuration around for later, edit the schedule to change what you need rather than deleting it — or take a screenshot of the editor first so you can recreate it later.
What’s next
