Before you begin
You can sign up for Octopods in two ways:
Email and password. Register with a business email address and a password you choose.
Single sign-on (SSO). Sign up instantly using your Google, Intercom, HubSpot, or Slack account.
Whichever method you choose, you end up at the same place: a new Octopods account ready to be connected to your customer platform. SSO is usually faster because it skips the email-confirmation step.
Sign up with email and password
Follow these steps if you want to use a dedicated email and password.
Go to the Octopods sign-up page. You will see the page title “Create your account” with the subtitle “Start your free trial today”.
Enter a business email address in the Email field. The helper text below reads “Only business emails allowed”.
Optionally enter a phone number in the Phone Number field. This field is marked “(Optional)”. You can leave it blank, or choose a country code from the list and type the rest of your number.
Enter a password in the Password field.
Retype the same password in the Password Confirmation field.
Click Create account.
Octopods sends a confirmation email to the address you entered. Your account will be created after you confirm.
Sign up with SSO
If your team already uses Google Workspace or one of the other supported providers, you can skip the password step entirely.
On the “Create your account” page, click the button for your preferred provider: “Sign up with Google”, “Sign up with Intercom”, “Sign up with HubSpot”, or “Sign up with Slack”.
Complete the provider’s authorization screen — you may need to sign in to the provider first and then approve Octopods’ access.
You are returned to Octopods, signed in and ready to go.
SSO accounts don’t require a separate password or email confirmation step. For more detail, see Signing In with SSO (Single Sign-On).
Confirm your email address
If you signed up with email and password, Octopods emails you a confirmation link so it can verify you own the address.
Open the email from
notifications@octopods.iowith the subject welcoming you to Octopods.Click the Confirm My Account button in the email.
You land back in Octopods with a confirmed account.
The confirmation email also includes a “Set or change your password” link in case you want to update the password you just chose.
If the confirmation email doesn’t arrive:
Check your spam or junk folder.
Check that the email address you entered is correct.
Request a new confirmation email from the sign-in page by clicking Didn’t receive confirmation instructions? at the bottom of the form.
If it still hasn’t arrived after a few minutes, contact your email administrator — some corporate mail servers quarantine messages from new senders.
What happens after you sign up
Once your account exists (and your email is confirmed, if you used email/password), Octopods takes you to the Connected Workspaces page. From there, you can connect your first Intercom workspace or HubSpot portal and add your first messaging channel. The quick-start guides below walk you through that end to end.
