How upgrading works
Every Octopods plan has a quantity that controls how many connections it covers:
Omnichannel — number of channels
WhatsApp Business — number of WhatsApp Business numbers
Instagram — number of Instagram accounts
Slack — number of Slack workspaces
Raising the quantity is the same action as “adding a channel slot” — it expands the subscription to cover more connections. The subscription stays on the same monthly billing cycle; only the price changes.
Open your subscription
Sign in to Octopods and open Billing & Subscriptions from your account menu.
Find the plan you want to change under Active Subscriptions.
Click View Details on the subscription card. This opens the plan’s detail page where the quantity controls live.
Increase the quantity
On the details page:
Look at the Registered Channels value — it shows how many units your subscription currently covers.
Open the Update channel count dropdown and pick the new quantity. The selector supports 1 to 50 units.
The New monthly cost updates immediately to reflect the new total. For Omnichannel, the first channel is $49/month and each additional channel is $39/month; other plans are priced per unit.
Click Update Subscription.
The button is disabled when the new quantity matches your current quantity — change the number to enable it.
Once the update is confirmed, your subscription card reflects the new quantity and the next invoice uses the updated price.
How proration works
When you upgrade mid-cycle, Octopods charges the difference between your old price and your new price, prorated for the remaining days in the current billing period. For example:
If you add a channel two weeks into a monthly cycle, you’re charged for roughly two weeks of the additional channel cost.
The full new monthly price then applies from the start of the next billing cycle.
You’ll see the prorated charge as a line item on your next invoice under Invoices on the Billing & Subscriptions page.
Adding a new product
If you want to add a different product (for example, adding a WhatsApp Business plan to an account that already has Omnichannel), that’s a separate subscription rather than an upgrade:
Open Billing & Subscriptions.
In the Expand Your Integration section, click Subscribe next to the product you want to add.
Follow the full subscribe flow — including a fresh 7-day trial for the new plan.
See Subscribing to a Plan for the complete walkthrough.
After upgrading
Connect the new channel, number, or workspace. Adding quantity creates the slot; you’ll still need to connect the actual channel in your workspace. See the relevant channel guide for setup steps.
Review the updated messaging allowance. Each additional subscribed channel raises your monthly messaging allowance. See Messaging Limits and Included Messages for how the limit scales.
Check the next invoice. The prorated charge appears on your next invoice; the full new monthly rate begins the following cycle.
Tip: Only admins can upgrade subscriptions. If you’re managing several workspaces and want to scale carefully, upgrade a single unit at a time so you can verify the new channel is working before adding more.
